Fernando Arteaga

Fernando Arteaga is a Calgary Spanish speaking lawyer working at Arteaga Legal Group. He is proud to serve Calgary’s diverse community, helping clients navigate legal matters with clarity, confidence, and compassion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Political Science, a Law degree from Universidad Católica in Ecuador, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Calgary. Fernando is deeply committed to lifelong learning and regularly dedicates time to studying legal developments to better serve his clients. Fernando began his legal career in Ecuador in 2004, serving as counsel in the litigation department of a government agency responsible for safeguarding deposits against bank failures. Since relocating to Canada, he has practiced law for over eight years, earning a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and personalized service. In Canada, his practice is primarily focused on real estate law, including purchases, sales, and refinances.

Before focusing on real estate, Fernando represented individuals and businesses in complex civil litigation. He has conducted trials at the Alberta Court of Justice and appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, gaining valuable courtroom experience and sharpening his advocacy skills. These experiences continue to inform his approach to problem-solving and client representation.

Fernando is known for his efficient, solution-oriented approach. He believes that legal issues should be resolved without unnecessary delays and always strives to build bridges and find common ground—while remaining fully committed to protecting his clients’ interests through all available legal avenues.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, Fernando founded Arteaga Legal Group, which has grown rapidly across multiple areas of law. He attributes this success to a client-first philosophy—combining legal expertise with genuine care and gratitude for every client he serves.

Outside of his legal practice, Fernando is a proud husband to Jasmin and father to Lily. He enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains, exploring Calgary’s vibrant culinary scene, and sharing meals with friends. Known for his warm personality and love of good food, Fernando is always ready with a restaurant recommendation—and never short of great places to eat in the city.
